In-terminal
Also called in-terminal counter, terminal desk
The short answerThe rental counter is inside the airport terminal; you walk to it after arrivals.
What it means
In-terminal means the rental company's desk is inside the airport arrivals area. The cars themselves may be in a nearby parking structure or a short walk away. It's the quickest way from the plane to the car at most airports.
Why it matters
It saves the shuttle step, which matters with kids, luggage or a late arrival. It's often reflected in the price through airport fees.
