Four letters. One car.
Every rental car has a four-letter code. Here is how to read it.
What are ACRISS or SIPP codes?
The short answerA four-letter code that describes a rental car class: size, body type, transmission and drive, then fuel and air conditioning. CDAR, for example, means a compact, 4-5 door, automatic car with air conditioning. You book the class, so you get that car "or similar".

Simplified guide. Suppliers can apply codes a little differently.
Why do car codes need mapping?
Suppliers don't always use codes the same way, and the same car can sit in different classes at different companies. A booking system has to map each supplier's cars into one clear view, or customers see duplicates and gaps.
How niftiOS handles it
- By default it uses the supplier's own code, so every car maps back exactly.
- Every car a supplier returns with a rate is shown; none are dropped.
- A code it doesn't recognize still shows as an "or similar" car, and the team gets an alert to map it.
