Tire and Glass Protection (TGP)
Also called TGP, glass and tire cover, windshield and tire cover
The short answerOptional cover for damage to tires, windows and the windshield, which basic damage waivers often exclude.
What it means
Tire and Glass Protection covers damage to the tires, windows and windshield of the rental car, items that basic CDW often leaves out. It can be sold on its own or included in a higher cover tier. Other parts, such as the roof or underbody, are usually still excluded.
Why it matters
Stone chips and punctures are some of the most common rental damage, especially on long drives and gravel roads.
Wording by region
UK, Irish, Australian and New Zealand wording: "windscreen" and "tyres."
