Commission
Also called agent commission, partner commission
The short answerA percentage of the rental price paid to the agent or partner who made the sale.
What it means
A commission is what a rental company or broker pays the agent or partner who sold the rental, usually a percentage of the rental price. It's usually calculated on the base rental (not taxes, fuel or extras) and paid after the rental is completed and not cancelled.
Why it matters
Commission is how travel agents and many partner sites get paid, so how it's calculated, and when it's paid, matters as much as the headline percentage.
