Child seat / booster seat
Also called car seat, baby seat, booster, child restraint
The short answerA seat for babies or children, rented from the rental company or brought from home; local law sets which kind a child needs.
What it means
Child seats include rear-facing infant seats, forward-facing toddler seats and booster seats for older children. Rental companies rent them per day, often with a maximum charge, subject to availability. Which seat a child needs, and how it must be fitted, is set by the law where you drive.
Why it matters
Reserve seats in advance; they can run out. Many families bring their own, and airlines often carry them at no extra charge; check your airline's rules.
